Chesworth Farm - Bird Log

White Gate Lag - In full flood once more
Mike Ayling carried out his usual bird count this weekend and once again took some fantastic images of the Riverside and White Gate Lag fields in full flood. This winter has really shown how effective these fields are at allowing the River Arun to burst its banks and act like a flood plain as it should.

White Gate Lag - The future?
With this years re-wetting project planned for the summer/autumn it will be interesting to see how the above view develops. We hope to be able to hang on to more of the water when flood conditions arrive and provide a suitable habitat for wading birds, reptiles and amphibians.

Riverside Field
Mike also carried out his bird count with the full list included below. A big well done must also go to Mike for finding a first for the Farm. A single Redshank was noted around the edges of the flooded White Gate Lag.
