Hidden Peanuts - Nuthatch Bait! |
As there seem to be quite a number of Waxwings in the Horsham district at the moment we have decided to try and entice them in to the feeding station by designing an 'Apple Kebab'. 17 were seen on the reserve earlier in the month and several other groups are wandering the streets of Horsham with the largest group of c40 birds visiting Tanyards Close just off the A281 this morning.
We have also given the Nuthatches, Woodpeckers and Treecreepers a bit of a challenge by wedging peanuts into drilled holes on some of the stumps in the feeding station to try and attract them down. Hopefully I will be able to show you the effects in the coming days.
