Pied Wagtail
Considering the weather there were quite a few good bits around the reserve today and as predicted yesterday the first batch of migrants arrived. The following birds were of note:

1 Mealy Redpoll, 1 Sand Martin, 2 Blackcap, 1 Gadwall, 6 Mandarin, 4 Teal, 3 Pochard, 31 Tufted Duck, 1 Little Egret, 1 Water Rail, 2 Little Grebe, 2 GC Grebe, 15+ Grey Heron, 1 Cormorant, 250+ Lesser Redpoll (spread across the reserve), 30+ Siskin, 2 Grey Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail, 2 Bullfinch, 10+ Reed Bunting, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Coal Tit

Oak Beauty
Good to finally dust of the moth trap and I was very glad I did! 329 moths in total of 13 species. Highlights were the above moths Yellow Horned and Oak Beauty which are two nice spring species. Only one micro in the shape of a single Diurnea fagella.
