Warnham LNR

Swallow

Swallows resting during rainstorm
A pretty miserable day at Warnham today with hirundines the main event with c60 Swallow, a handful of House Martin and a single Sand Martin. Again 7 Mandarin were seen as were 4 House Sparrow, 2 Pied Wagtail, 2 GC Grebe, 2 Grey Wagtail, 23 Tufted Duck, 1 Greylag Goose, 2 Stock Dove and 15+ Blackcap.

First part of the heronry census today provided at least 31 chicks hatched this year so far and the nests on the upper slope haven't started hatching yet so fingers crossed for a good year.
