Chesworth Farm Wetland Project - Update

Panoramic of the landscape changes
We are now over a month into the exciting Wetland Project which is being run by Horsham District Council Countryside Unit, the Friends of Chesworth Farm and the Arun and Rother Connections Project. Nearly all of the fencing around the new wetland scrapes is all but complete and most of the excavation of the wetland scrapes has now taken place.

Below are a selection of pictures of how the new scrape area of the project is looking now most of the excavation has been completed. The final touches to the bunding and pools are expected to be completed by Friday this week.

Once the landscaping works have been completed the next stages of the project are to install a new hide for visitors to be able to watch the wildlife from and to install a large section of boardwalk to open up the wetland area for access on a permanent basis. The boardwalk section will offer views of the waterfall on the River Arun as well as provide a link back to the new surfaced path at the top of the field. For the time being please follow all on site signage regarding path closures and updates on the project. For further details on the project please do not hesitate to contact us at: leisure@horsham.gov.uk
