| Scorched Wing |
A slightly better moth trap last night despite the horrid weather produced 96 moths of 31 species which added a few more to our annual list which now stands incidentally at 96 too! A few highlights were singles of Scorched Wing (above) and The Spectacle as wel as two Cypress Carpet, four Silver Y and 2 Poplar Hawk-moths.
On the Millpond hirundines gave the most to look at with c40 House Martin, 20 Swallow and 25 Swift all hawking the water in the misty gloom. Also of note the pair of Shoveler I found on Sunday were still present today from the Tern Hide.
