Warnham LNR - New species for the Reserve

It is not very often we add a new bird to the species list at Warnham and often I am dreaming of adding something incredibly rare or nice looking. Anyway...today was the day to add a new species and I was lucky enough to pull it out the bag. It was a RED-CRESTED POCHARD, long overdue species here at Warnham but finally we have got one.

Unfortunately it decided to spend the whole day at the back of the millpond like all the good birds seem to do so pictures were difficult so I have attached a piece of video which will hopefully be better. It has roosted tonight so fingers crossed it will still be present in the morning for anyone interested in seeing it. Also of note two Gadwall (1M/1F) came into roost in the late evening.
